There are moments when we come to God with our prayers, our carefully thought-out requests, our lists of needs. In the context of Efésios 3:20, Paul was praying for the Church of Ephesus. He asked for enlightenment of their spiritual eyes, praying that they would understand the hope in Christ. You asked for provision for the month and received abundance that allowed you to help someone in need. These are not coincidences — they are signatures of a God who never limits Himself to the boundaries of our prayers.
But there is a crucial detail in this promise: "according to his power that is at work within us." This means that God's supernatural capacity does not work apart from us. It works through our lives, through our decisions, through our steps of faith. When we surrender our worries to Him, when we trust even when we cannot see the way, we allow that infinite power to work through us. We are channels of this extraordinary grace.
Today, recognize the ways in which God has already done more than you asked. And then, free your prayers from the limits of your understanding. Ask big, dream big, but above all, trust in a God whose answers always exceed our expectations. He is not just able — He is generous in His infinite capacity.
