"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress."

— Salmo 46:10-11

We live in a world that never stops. At every moment a new notification appears, a new challenge, a new reason to quicken our hearts. We are constantly pressured to have answers, to act quickly, to solve problems before they even fully form. But today, the Psalmist invites us to something radically different: to be still. It is not an invitation to passivity or indifference, but to conscious rest in the presence of God.

The context of this Psalm is deeply relevant. David writes amid tumults, when nations rise up and kingdoms move. It is in this chaos that he discovers an extraordinary truth: inner silence does not leave us vulnerable, but connects us with the absolute power of God. When we stop shouting, we can hear. When we cease our agitation, the Holy Spirit can finally speak. This is the divine paradox that transforms human history.

There are moments when we must learn that our agitation does not demonstrate faith, but distrust. When we continue desperately struggling, we communicate to our hearts that everything depends only on us. But when we are still before God and allow Him to be God, we experience a peace that we truly do not comprehend rationally. Knowing that He is God changes everything. It changes our perspective, our patience, our resilience. He is exalted not only in the distant heavens, but also in our present life, in the circumstances that seem uncontrollable.

What is the practical application of this? Today, choose a moment to be silent. Not an empty silence, but a contemplative silence where you recognize God's sovereignty over your situation. Quiet your obsessive plans, your circular worries, your compulsive need to control. Breathe deeply and whisper: 'He is God'. This simple recognition realigns your entire existence. The Lord Almighty is with us. This truth is not a theological abstraction, it is a living reality that you can experience in this very moment.

Your struggle today is not against circumstances or people. It is about learning again that God does not sleep, does not turn away, and has never ceased to be in control. When you quiet your spirit, you discover that the refuge has always been there, waiting for you.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I open my heart to this simple yet transformative truth: You are God. Help me to quiet my restless soul, to cease my unnecessary struggle, and to rest in Your sovereignty. Thank You for Your constant love and for Your presence that never abandons me. Amen.

Deus não está longe. Ele está aqui, nesse momento, com você.
