"For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ."
— 1 Coríntios 3:11
Monday arrives with its demands, its deadlines, its expectations. You feel that familiar weight: you need to produce, deliver results, prove your worth. And in this rush, a silent question echoes: on what, exactly, am I building my life and my work? The truth is that many of us spend years erecting magnificent structures upon fragile foundations — foundations made of others' approval, material success, professional recognition. And when the storm comes, everything collapses.
Paul writes to the Corinthians a revolutionary message: there is only one foundation that is true, solid, eternal. It is not what you conquer with your sweat. It is not the opinion of your bosses or colleagues. It is not even your own competence — however real it may be. The foundation is Jesus Christ. This is not a poetic declaration for Sunday. It is practical spiritual engineering that completely changes how you work, how you relate, how you measure success.
Have you ever stopped to think about what it means to build upon Christ in the context of your work, your projects, your responsibilities? It means that your task today is not to impress, but to serve. It means that professional failure does not define your worth. It means you can take risks, innovate, and even fail, because your identity is not hanging on the outcome of a project. The foundation is already secure. It has already been laid. It is already unshakeable.
In this week that is beginning, I invite you to conduct an honest internal audit. What foundations have you been cultivating? What motivates you in the morning? What keeps you awake at night? If you remove all external pressure — the goals, the deadlines, the competition — what remains? If nothing remains but emptiness, it is time to rebuild. It is time to let Jesus be the foundation, the starting point. When this happens, miraculously, work changes its nature. It does not disappear, but transforms into an opportunity to serve, to grow, to reflect Christ.
This is the invitation for today: build with excellence, but upon the correct Rock. Work with dedication, but knowing that your worth does not depend on results. Face the challenges of the week with confidence, because there is a foundation that no circumstance can remove.
