"Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

— Philippians 3:13-14

We are in March, a month that naturally invites new beginnings. While the world celebrates spring in the northern hemisphere, you may be carrying the weight of past decisions, relationships that ended, or paths that did not work out. But today, God invites you to something different: to stop living looking backward and begin walking with hope toward what is coming.

Paul was not talking about spiritual amnesia or denial of mistakes. He was talking about something far deeper: the deliberate capacity not to allow the past to be the conductor of your present life. The apostle had persecuted Christians and had been a man full of reputation and power. But there came a moment when he understood that that former résumé did not define his future. The encounter with Jesus freed him from that prison.

Starting over with God does not mean pretending mistakes never happened. It means recognizing that you have been forgiven, that grace covers everything that was left behind, and that you have a whole life ahead to live with purpose. Perhaps you have made financial, relational, or professional mistakes. Perhaps you have lived far from God for years. Perhaps you carry guilt for something you have never been able to share with anyone. In this moment, the message is clear: this is not your end, it is only a stop before your new beginning.

Today's practical challenge is simple but transforming: identify what you are carrying from the past and present it to God. Not as someone defeated, but as someone who finally recognizes they need to let go of that weight to run better. Write on a piece of paper what you want to leave behind — fear, shame, remorse, failure — and destroy that paper. This is symbolic, but symbolism has power. You are not denying the past; you are refusing to be its prisoner.

God is offering you a new chance. Not because you deserved it, but because He is merciful. Your life from now on can be different. You can begin that project you always postponed, restore that relationship, pursue that dream. The past has no power over you except the power you give it. Therefore, choose today: move forward. With God, the best is yet to come.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for allowing me to start over. Today, I release everything that binds me to the past and fix my eyes on You and the possibilities You have for my life. Give me courage to walk forward, knowing that Your grace accompanies me at every step. Amen.

Deus não está longe. Ele está aqui, nesse momento, com você.
