"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart."

— Jeremias 29:11-13

Monday arrives as a new starting point in the week. It's when we return to work, reaffirm our responsibilities, and ask ourselves if we're on the right path. How many times have you started a week questioning your purpose? Whether your work truly matters? If your choices make sense? These doubts are more common than we imagine, especially when we feel tired or frustrated with routine.

The context of Jeremiah 29 is powerful: the prophet writes to the exiles in Babylon, people who lost everything, who were torn from their homes and from all that was familiar. They were far from Jerusalem, far from the temple, far from the life they knew. Humanly speaking, it would seem that God had abandoned His plans for them. But God sends a message through Jeremiah that echoes through the centuries: "I know the plans I have for you." They are not thoughts of destruction, but of peace. They are not plans of failure, but of hope and future.

What God tells us in this verse is revolutionary for our Monday: you are not lost, even when you feel like you are. God's plans for your life have not disappeared because you made a mistake, because you missed an opportunity, or because circumstances changed. God knows the complete path. He sees beyond where you can see. And there is an important condition here: "You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart." God invites you to seek Him with genuine sincerity. Not with half-hearted devotion, not with a divided mind, but with your whole heart.

The practical application for today is straightforward: begin your week by reconnecting with your Creator. Before answering emails, before starting projects, before getting caught up in routine, come before God and say: "Lord, I want to seek Your plans. I want to understand my purpose. I want to work with excellence because this is for You." When you call upon the Lord with sincerity, when you seek with all your heart, He makes Himself findable. Your life gains meaning that doesn't come from salaries or promotions, but from the assurance of being aligned with divine calling.

May your Monday be marked by renewal. Not by the illusion that everything will be perfect, but by the conviction that your God knows exactly what you need and where the path leads. Work with excellence not just to accomplish tasks, but because you serve a Lord who deserves the best of you. Your plans have a future. Your life has purpose. And it all begins when you seek with all your heart.

Prayer:

Lord, this Monday I place my heart before You. Thank You for knowing my days and for having plans of peace for my life, not plans of harm. Help me to seek You with sincerity, to work with excellence, and to remember that each task I accomplish can be offered to You as worship. Renew my purpose and strengthen me for the days ahead. Amen.
