"Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."

— Isaiah 43:18-19

How many times do we wake up carrying the weight of everything we could not fix? The mistakes we made, the lost opportunities, the broken relationships, the deferred dreams. March is a month of renewal, and today is the moment to leave behind a whole suitcase of guilt at the door of the past. God does not want you living dragging the chains of yesterday while He offers freedom today.

The prophet Isaiah was writing to a people who had experienced exile, defeat, humiliation. Those Israelites knew well what it was to carry scars. But God, in His infinite compassion, did not want them to live in continuous lament. He declared something revolutionary: "Do not remember the former things." This was not a denial of history, but liberation from the emotional prison that the past represents. God promised not only to erase, but to renew completely — opening paths where before there was only desert.

Beginning again is not pretending nothing happened. It is recognizing that you have been shaped by your experiences, but that they do not define your future. Every mistake is a lesson, every fall is a starting point. The Christian life is not about perfection, but about progression. Paul wrote in Philippians 3:13 that he was "forgetting what lies behind," not because he had spiritual amnesia, but because his energy was devoted to what lay ahead. That is the secret: shifting focus. When you constantly look behind, you cannot walk forward safely.

Today, do a practical exercise: write on a piece of paper what you want to leave behind. Your resentments, your shame, your disappointments in yourself. Not in an accusatory way, but honestly. Then burn that paper or tear it up, symbolizing the surrender of that burden to God. Pray asking Him to restore your confidence — not only in Him, but in yourself. Beginning again with God means beginning again with renewed hope.

You are not your past. You are someone for whom Christ died, someone who deserves a second chance, a third, as many as are needed. The path ahead is real. The rivers in the desert that God promises are not illusions; they are realities that spring forth when you stop looking at the dried-up well of yesterday. Begin again today. Begin again now. Begin again with the One who has already won every victory for you.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to release what I can no longer carry. Forgive me for the mistakes I carry and for those I committed against others. Give me the courage to leave the past behind and the hope to embrace the new thing You are doing in my life. Renew my heart on this day and fill me with the certainty that I am a new creation in You.

Deus não está longe. Ele está aqui, nesse momento, com você.
