"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

— Filipenses 4:6-7

We live in a world that seems to have made anxiety a permanent companion. Worries arrive early, even before the sun rises — pending work issues, relationships that hurt, uncertainties about the future. And often, without realizing it, we carry this weight as if it were our responsibility to solve everything alone.

Paul wrote these words from inside a prison. Not from a spiritual retreat, not from a peaceful moment by the seaside — but in chains, awaiting a trial that could cost him his life. And yet, he does not write about resignation or willpower. He writes about peace. A peace that transcends all understanding — that is, it goes beyond the logic of circumstances.

The secret revealed in the verse is not to ignore problems, but to transform the way we carry them. "In every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" — this means bringing every detail of your life into conversation with the Father. Not a generic request, but a specific, honest surrender, with gratitude even in the midst of difficulty. Gratitude not because everything is well, but because God is faithful.

When we let go of control and place in God's hands what anguishes us, something supernatural happens: an invisible sentinel comes to guard our heart and our mind. Not the absence of problems — but the presence of God that is greater than any problem.

Today, instead of beginning your day counting your worries, try counting them to Him. One by one. With confidence.

Prayer:

Father, today I bring to You what is weighing on my heart. I no longer want to carry alone what was meant to be placed in Your hands. Thank You for being faithful yesterday, today, and always. May Your peace — that peace that goes beyond any understanding of mine — come and guard my heart now. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Deus não está longe. Ele está aqui, nesse momento, com você.
